Roran Noah Birds birth story!

I know I have not posted anything since Noah was born but as new mom to a new born most of you know theres not much time! This post is a long one so I hope you have time!
Roran Noah Bird was born September 20Th at 5:53 by cesarean He weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 19 1/12inches long. It all started out on Saturday the 18th I was having seriouse contractions and we decided to head to the hospital because they were so close together and I had thought my water broke butt it turned out to be my mucus plug.(something no one warns you about that can happen and its GROSS) So they sent us home because not much was happening I was completly effaced but only dialated to a 2. Then Sunday the 19Th my water broke! Matt and I were so excited and happened to be with our neighbors who ended up driving us to the hospital! When we arrived they hooked me up to all the "fancy" machines and monitored my contractions. For some reason had not very consistant contractions. We walked, danced, bounced on a ball, and tried to regulate contractions. My doctor wanted me everyewear but the bed so that was helpful. He wanted to avoid the drugs and help me with my natural plan of delevery! Since things were not progressing and my water had broken more then 24 hours before they decided that it was best to start pitocen at 4:00am on the 20Th because I was not contracting consistently. At 1pm my contractions were still not hard and very inconsistent and I would not dilate. I started getting a fever and was not doing well because my body had picked up infections from my water being broke so long. At 2pm not much had changed except my fever rose to 102. By 3pm nothing had changed much but I couldn't bare the contractions anymore! It was awful! If any of you have had pitocen you know how much worse it is!! For those of you that dont know its one constant peeked contraction with no brake!! Its awful so I had an epidural. My dr incouraged me to keep going if I could with out one but completly understand if I wanted one because my body was wearing out and fast! At 4pm the Dr said not much had changed I had not dilated past a 5 and my fever at that point was 104.5 and he was starting to get very worried about my health and the infection. At 5:00pm the Dr came back into the room and sat on the side of my bed and discussed having a cesarean. He felt so bad and knew that this was not what Matt and I had wanted and he did not want it either! He said that my fever was not braking with the antibiotics and my body was getting close to shutting down. He was very worried about how I would do if I could deliver naturally because my body was so weak and so tired already. At 5:40 the nurse came in to take my temp and it was 106.7. She couldn't believe I was some what cognitive and called the Dr in immediately. I was not grasping what the Dr had said and the next thing I know Matt is sitting by my side and I'm lieing on the operating table freezing!!! The next thing I remember is hearing Noah's sweet sweet little cry! They let me see him for a second but quickly rushed Noah off cause his temp was 103 because I had been so hot! They quickly got Matt out as well because I was not taking to well to the epidural and put me under. During that time they removed my 5cm cyst from my left ovary. The next thing I remember was trying to wake up but my eyes were so heavy I could not. 2 hours later in the recovery room I had awakened enough to see Noah and hold him for the first time! Soon after they wheeled us down to the mothers and baby side! We stayed until Thursday and the staff was excellent. On Friday I was not feeling well and my chest and heart hurt bad. I couldn't breath very well and thought I was catching a cold. By Sunday I could hardly breath just sitting up. So we decided to call the Dr. When we got to his office he listened to my lungs and said he could hardly hear the breaths I was taking and worried about my heart. He said rarely women can have a heart attack after such a stressful delivery. He was also very worried that I had not lost any fluid and was so puffy still. I was so puffy I had gained weight after having Noah-Not normal at all. Well he sent me off to have an X-ray of my chest, an ultrasound of my legs to check for clots, and a test/ultrasound for my heart. My x-ray for the chest came back with fluid in my lungs so he admitted me back up to labor and delivery. He had said that all the fluids from the IV's had stored in my body and ran out of room to place in the normal areas of my body that it moved it to my lungs. He gave me a water pill to help relieve myself every 5 seconds! Sure enough that did the trick! It worked so well that the first day I lost 9lbs and just continued to lose more the next 4 days! We finally got to come home and stay home! It has been such a blessing having Noah in our home and we could not be happier to have such an adorable little boy!
